Cogérie Paris Purity and Radiance Facial Cleansing Foam

Cogérie Paris Purity and Radiance Facial Cleansing Foam

A couple of months ago I managed to find the Cogérie Paris Purity and Radiance Facial Cleansing Foam in my local TK Maxx store after discovering it online on the TK Maxx website.

This facial foaming cleanser is designed for all skin types and features probiotic technology to gently clean and purify the face. It also mentions that it has excellent foaming power that leaves skin perfectly cleansed, fresh and soft.

The main reason I purchased this product is because of the probiotics in the formula (in the form of yogurt filtrate and lactobacillus), having tried a couple of probiotic serums prior, which really helped improve the look of my skin.

Other ingredients that caught my eye are glycerin as the second one, rosa damascena flower water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, panthenol, moringa oleifera seed extract, alpha glucan oligosaccharide, polymnia sonchifolia root juice, and the use of very gentle surfactants.

As you can see, this cleanser is designed to be very mild and moisturising and since converting to gentle treatments for my skin in order to avoid a damaged skin barrier, I was very interested in trying it.

The  Cogérie Paris Purity and Radiance Facial Cleansing Foam comes in a bottle with a  self-foaming pump, which instantly dispenses a light foam that cleanses the skin very gently. The soft foam dissolves on the skin as you massage it on, moisturising and softening the skin at it cleanses.

I really like the floral scent of the formula, and how mild it is on my skin. It also leaves it feeling very soft and does not break me out. The only thing to consider with the Cogérie Cleansing Foam is that you might need to double cleanse if your skin is very oily, but I don't mind doing that or a pre-cleanse with some micellar water.

I would definitely recommend this cleanser for all skin types, even sensitive ones, so if you happen to find it at your local TK Maxx, definitely snap it up.

Unfortunately I was unable to find the cleanser online but stay tuned for a compilation of probiotic cleansers coming very soon. (Update: you can find the list of my Top 6 Probiotic Cleansers live now!)

Bauhaus at Alexandra Palace

Bauhaus at Alexandra Palace

Bauhaus at Alexandra Palace

Last Saturday we went to see Bauhaus at Alexandra Palace in London. Before this concert they had only played two dates in Mexico the previous week. This was our first concert since seeing The Strokes in 2019.

Seeing Bauhaus live was one of those things that I didn't think I would experience, as I got into Bauhaus around 16 years ago, when they weren't as active, even after they brought out a new album in 2008.

They played many of my favourites, including She's In Parties, All We Ever Wanted Was Everything, The Passion of Lovers, In The Flat Field and Terror Couple Killed Colonel.

There were 2 encores and they played a few covers: Telegram Sam and Ziggy Stardust, the song by which I discovered Bowie ♥

Before they left the stage Peter Murphy said "This is not the last show we'll ever do" so I look forward to seeing them again, even if they play nothing but all of their classics.

Below is the full setlist, with links to videos I took from some of the songs:

  1. Rosegarden Funeral of Sores (John Cale cover)
  2. Double Dare
  3. In the Flat Field
  4. A God in an Alcove
  5. In Fear of Fear
  6. Spy in the Cab
  7. Terror Couple Kill Colonel
  8. She's in Parties
  9. Kick in the Eye
  10. Bela Lugosi's Dead
  11. The Man With the X-Ray Eyes
  12. Silent Hedges
  13. The Passion of Lovers
  14. Stigmata Martyr
  15. Dark Entries
    Encore:
  16. Sister Midnight (Iggy Pop cover)
  17. Telegram Sam (T. Rex cover)
  18. Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie cover)
    Encore 2:
  19. All We Ever Wanted Was Everything

Affordable Shapewear at Waistdear

*This is a sponsored post.

With holiday season fast approaching, the chance to reunite with friends and family to celebrate again will finally arrive again.

As it is usual with special times and celebrations, we all want to look our best, and while a healthy diet and lifestyle are always the best way to go, sometimes we might need a bit of extra help to look amazing. Which is where Waistdear comes in: they are a leading international manufacturer of women’s shapewear and sportswear.

On the Waistdear website you can find a wide range of cheap shapewear, including full body shapers, seamless shapers, lifters, accessories and waist trainers in latex or neoprene, as well as sportswear like leggings, shorts, crop tops and sets.

High Waist Pant Shaper Full Length Potential Reduction       Women Breathable Compression Silhouette Waist Cincher
Above are a couple of my favourite picks form the Waistdear website, on the left we have the High Waist Pant Shaper, which is a full length pair of leggings that features a hook-and-eye closure, they are high-waisted for targeted tummy control with light to moderate compression. The material is stretchy and comfortable, and it also provides leg trimming, butt lifting and body contouring. What I really like about these leggings is that they are very versatile and suitable for everyday wear, yoga, jogging, running, fitness, cycling, and even just lounging at home. It also comes in 7 different colours so there is one for every taste and occasion.

At Waistdear you can also find wholesale waist trainers with logo, and above is pictured one of my preferred designs: the Compression Silhouette Waist Cincher uses powerful Velcro closures that are firm and won't come undone easily. The contrast piping adds a touch of colour (it is available in 4 shades, including a plain black one). It also contains six steel bones to maintain rigidity and shape, while the neoprene fabric makes it very elastic, soft, and comfortable to wear. It also includes an external waist belt design to increase waist compression.

With many designs and colours to choose from, plus very affordable prices, you can rest assured that there is something at Waistdear that will help you look your best this holiday season.

Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin

Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin

Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin

You may already know that the Garnier BB Creams have been reformulated and relaunched recently, and a couple of weeks ago I was sent the new version of the Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin to try out.

The Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin is marketed as a perfecting care all-in-one that provides the benefits of using a moisturising cream, an SPF 25 and a foundation, and it promises to even, mattify, reduce pores and feel hydrating while offering SPF 25.

This new formulation "lets skin breathe" and contains Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera and ultra-thin Mineral Pigments. Other ingredients worth mentioning are Titanium Dioxide, Squalane, Vitamins E and C, Grapefruit Water and Perlite.

Like the original formula, it features a strong floral scent which might be overpowering for some but it doesn't bother me that much.

When it comes to its claims I find that it definitely evens out the skin tone and reduces the look of pores and some texture, while leaving a natural matte finish on the skin. It doesn't dry my skin out and I like that it provides higher protection than my usual SPF 15 day lotion.

Would I change anything about it? Maybe reducing the strength of the fragrance, using an airless pump tube for easier dispensing and introducing more shades would be nice as I found the Light one a bit dark for my skin.

Find the Gariner BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin in Look Fantastic and Feel Unique.

Have you tried the new formulations of the Garnier BB Creams?

Our Anniversary

Primark tops

Snoopy pajamas

Dr Lipp lip balms

Dainty necklace

Flower bouquets

Dried grass vase decoration

It was our 9th wedding anniversary last month (how is it almost a decade already?!). We went out for dinner and the first place we visited was not serving food, only drinks. So we went to a different restaurant and they had many items they weren't serving that day, which weren't specified until after we were seated. Maybe we should have gone to a third place ha!

Dotcito got me a couple of tops and the cutest Snoopy pjs (which I'm wearing as I write this!), a Dr Lipp Lip Balms set, a sterling silver necklace and two flower bouquets. Our in laws gifted us a ceramic vase with decorative dried grass, which I really like.

Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum

Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum

Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum

Last week I received the Neogen Dermalogy Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum, which was kindly sent to me by YesStyle to try and review.

The Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum contains a 10% Phyto-Retinol Firming Booster that helps create firm, smooth and radiant skin. The 10% refers to a complex of ingredients which includes Blackberry extract and moisturisers, which can be a bit misleading as it only contains 100ppm of Bakuchiol, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

As I've only used it once (last night) this will be a first impressions post about it, however when I've used it for longer I will be updating this post or writing a new one.

This violet energy and elasticity boosting serum contains Bakuchiol, which is a natural ingredient found in plants that has similar effects to retinol and helps fight signs of ageing; Blackberry Extract, which is rich in antioxidants, and plant derived Squalane for moisture.

Other notable ingredients include Glycerin, Niacinamide, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Lupine Extract and Protein, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, two forms of vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin E; Gardenia Florida, Aloe Leaf and Eggplant Extracts; Tea Tree,  Geranium, Clary Sage and Lavender Essential Oils; Sodium Hyaluronate, Guaiazulene, plus Oils of Olive Fruit and Sunflower Seed.

The Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum contains many moisturising, soothing, hydrating, antioxidant and brightening ingredients that will help improve the look and texture of skin without irritating it or drying it out.

This serum has lightly moisturising properties that might leave a slight tackiness on the skin however I don't mind it at all as I will always follow with a moisturiser afterwards. It also smells of lavender and has a low to medium viscosity, which I wasn't expecting as imagined it being more runny but was pleasantly surprised as I find watery serums harder to apply. It also has a light violet tint to it, which must come naturally from the Blueberry Fruit Extract as this serum contains no coulorants.

The packaging feels very luxurious because of the silver box with purple accents, and the hefty lilac frosted glass bottle with contrasting white details is very nice to hold, use and even just look at.

Overall this serum sounds very promising and can't wait to see what the long term results from using it will be. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a gentle moisturising, brightening and smoothing serum, or an alternative to retinol to use during the summer.

You can find the Neogen Real Bakuchiol Firming Serum at YesStyle with 19% off, plus you can get some extra money off with code NAV2019.

Naturally Radiant Glow Serum

Naturally Radiant Glow Serum Hydrating 2 in 1 Serum and Moisturiser

Recently finished the Naturally Radiant Glow Booster, which I really enjoyed using, and wanted to try out more products from the range, so decided to go for the Naturally Radiant Glow Hydrating 2 in 1 Serum and Moisturiser, which contains a pre-biotic complex to balance, calm and soothe the skin.

It also mentions that it minimises signs of irritation and blemishes, leaving skin soothed and with a healthy looking glow. It promises to be a lightweight probiotic serum that helps improve skin texture and reduce redness, leaving skin moisturised  and clearer without clogging pores.

Compared to the Booster, this Serum is more moisturising, it features Glycerin as the second ingredient, and shares many ingredients with the Booster, such as Saccharide Isomerate, Bisabolol, Maris Aqua, Cocos Nucifera Fruit Extract, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Citric Acid and Chlorella Vulgaris Extract.

The Serum has a lightweight lotion consistency that absorbs very quickly into the skin and gently moisturisers and I find that it also helps in reducing redness and preventing breakouts while moisturising the skin.

As the Hydrating 2 in 1 Serum and Moisturiser is, as the name suggests, more moisturising than the booster, I found it too heavy when worn under my daily moisturiser, but for dry skin types it might be just right. And as a moisturiser on its own I don't think it is enough for me when used at night, so I layer it under a more occlusive one and don't mind if it ends up feeling sticky or shiny as I'm only going to bed.

All in all, it is a versatile product that can help improve redness and breakouts while lightly moisturising, and would be ideal to layer under other moisturisers if you have dry skin, or worn on its own if you have oily skin.

The Inkey List Retinol

The Inkey List Retinol

Since receiving the Inkey List Retinol Serum as a gift, I'd been using it on and of, or not very frequently to see any changes, but recently I've been using it more consistently and have noticed some improvement to my skin.

The Inkey List Retinol is designed for ages 25+ and to help to reduce wrinkles. Formulated with 1% Retistar (a stabilised retinol compound) and 0.5% Granactive Retinoid in a slow release formula to avoid irritation, plus Squalane to help hydrate and protect the skin.

Other ingredients worth mentioning are brightening Sodium Ascorbate, two forms of soothing vitamin E, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 which work as anti-inflammatory and collagen boosting peptides, respectively.

At first I was scared of it drying out my skin as I've used pure retinoic acid before however this didn't cause any of the extreme dryness and peeling that retinoic acid did. As I got more comfortable using it I began alternating it with glycolic acid and my skin got extremely dry so I stopped using either product.

Fast forward to a month later and I finally started using the Inkey List Retinol almost nightly. I have noticed that my skin feels very smooth in the morning (when I've used it the previous night) and it also has helped reduce some hyperpigmentation, both from breakouts and stubborn sun damage, which is great.

In terms of pores and texture, there seems to be some improvement as well, however I don't really have any reference pictures from before using it so unfortunately I can't compare.

The only thing I don't love about the Inkey List Retinol is the packaging, as the serum is quite runny and trying to put the cap on the tube to close it becomes tricky as I try not to let the serum run down my finger and drip on the floor. I had to keep the tube stored upside down until near the end to avoid this. A pump bottle would work so much better for this serum.

If you are new to retinoids and are looking for an affordable retinol serum that won't cause peeling or irritation then I would definitely recommend giving the Inkey List Retinol a try.

Find the Inkey List Retinol at Cult Beauty, Feel Unique and Look Fantastic.

Vitamin C Invigorating Skin Booster

Vitamin C Invigorating Skin Booster

This is actually my very first vitamin C serum. It is one of those ingredients that everybody was talking about but I didn't see it as a necessary step in my routine. Last year I got it as a gift on my birthday and have slowly but surely been using it up and applying it during my morning routine.

This Vitamin C serum from Superdrug claims to "detoxify" the skin, and leave it brighter and softer. It is infused with vitamin C and Kakadu Plum & Goji Berry extracts (Kakadu Plum has the highest known ‭concentration of Vitamin C of any food on the planet and ‭Goji Berry is known to induce calm, ‭wellbeing and energy).

There isn't that much information about this serum on the packaging or the website but it is common knowledge that Vitamin C can help brighten the skin, fade hyperpigmentation and increase collagen production.

While this serum only uses the vitamin C derivative Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate at a concentration of 1%, I did notice it helped fade some hyperpigmentation from both breakouts and sun damage. The effect was more visible on the more recent pigmentation though.

The product also mentions that it leaves skin softer and it is definitely noticeable at the end of the day when I wash my face and feel my skin being softer. The serum is also lightly moisturising thanks to the glycerin in the formula, however it does not feel heavy or sticky on the skin.

Vitamin C serums can be irritating in some cases, but as this product uses a derivative instead of pure vitamin C it is more gentle and I believe it would be suitable for more sensitive skin types.

The Vitamin C Invigorating Skin Booster is very affordable, costing only £4.99 at Superdrug so it is a great option if you are looking to start using a vitamin C serum.

I would definitely recommend the Vitamin C Invigorating Skin Booster if you are looking for a gentle brightening serum that won't break the bank.

Find the Vitamin C Invigorating Skin Booster at Superdrug.

Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream

Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream

A couple of weeks ago I received the Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream, which is a multitasking eye cream enriched with Saccharomyces/Snail Secretion Ferment Filtrate, Peptides and Bee Venom to smoothen and vitalise the eye area.

The first thing to notice about this eye cream is the size of the tube, you get 30g which is double what you usually get for an eye cream, so it makes it better value for money.

As well as the ingredients mentioned earlier, it also contains Lactobacillus/Collagen Ferment Filtrate, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Olive Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid, Bifida Ferment Lysate, various plant extracts including Elm, Willow and Aloe; Beta Glucan, Panthenol, several Amino Acids, Ceramide NP and vitamin E.

The Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream is packed with many beneficial ingredients that will help moisturise, soothe and plump the skin, as well as improve lines and texture over time with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (aka Argireline) and Copper Tripeptide-1.

This eye cream has a light to medium texture that feels velvety when applied onto the skin. It helps diminish the look of fine lines instantly thanks to its hydrating properties. It is not sticky or pore clogging and it wears well under other products.

Because of the size of the product I have not only been using it on the eye area but also on the areas above my eyebrows and nasolabial folds.

I have been really enjoying the Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream and am looking forward to seeing what the long term effects of this product are.

If you are looking for a nourishing but light eye cream with multiple benefits such as moisturising, plumping and line reducing, that is also good value for money I would definitely recommend trying the Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream.

Alien Goddess Eau De Parfum

Alien Goddess Eau De Parfum

Another perfume sample I recently received is Alien Goddess by Mugler, which is the newest addition to the Alien feminine fragrance family.

Alien Goddess is a Floral, Oriental, Woody Eau de Parfum, which consists of "3 olfactory revelations":

  • Radiant Revelation: a top note of sparkling Italian Bergamot essence.
  • Miraculous Revelation: middle notes of Jasmine Grandiflorum, an intense solar flower.
  • Mindful Revelation: base notes of warmth-evoking Bourbon Vanilla.

Upon first application of Alien Goddess I perceive very faint citrus with a stronger note of coconut, which quickly evolves into a light floral mix which includes jasmine and heliotrope, before finally settling on the skin as a warm vanilla base.

While I like the overall scent of this fragrance, I find that it does not last very long on the skin and once a couple of hours have passed it is barely perceptible (which I find quite disappointing for a premium fragrance), leaving only a hint of dry vanilla and mostly musky cashmeran wood, which I'm not the biggest fan of.

Alien Goddess would make a nice summer fragrance, especially on more hot or humid climates because of the tropical notes, as well as the lightness which will prevent it from becoming overpowering.

Find Alien Goddess at Feel Unique and Look Fantastic.

All Used Up #11

All Used Up #11

Welcome to another instalment of the All Used Up series! This time it is an all skincare exclusive post:

Naturally Radiant 5% Glycolic Tonic: this exfoliant mentions that it can be used daily in the morning and evening, which is too much and unnecessary. Only a couple of times a week is more than enough (I learned the hard way). It leaves skin smoother and softer, will probably purchase a full sized bottle.

The Body Shop Strawberry Smoothing Face Mist: I really enjoyed the fruity scent of this face mist. It contains blueberry, strawberry, sugar cane, orange, lemon, maple and guava extracts to exfoliate and brighten the skin, so a great option if you are looking to start using chemical exfoliants.

Garnier Organic Lemongrass Detox Gel Wash: a nice non-drying cleanser for combination skin types. It contains glycerin and mild surfactants however it is fragranced with lemongrass essential oil. I would probably repurchase however I have a couple cleansers I'm excited to try now!

Simple Kind to Skin Protecting Moisture Cream SPF 30: a great moisturising cream with chemical and mineral UV filters, plus glycerin, niacinamide, almond oil, vitamin E, allantoin, lactic acid, serine and urea. It evens out the skin and smoothes texture while reducing shine. It unfortunately was discontinued so will be trying its replacement very soon.

SNP mini Moisture Petal Toner: a hydrating toner that leaves skin super soft and supple, while moisturising. Great as a first step after cleansing for light moisture, also ideal for traveling because of the size and packaging. Will probably repurchase.

SNP mini Eye & Facial Nourishing Cream: a lightweight multi-use moisturiser that is great value for money even if used not only as an eye cream. Leaves skin soft and contains many great ingredients including peptides. Will probably repurchase too. Full review here.

Naturally Radiant Glow Prebiotic Booster: a serum that calms the skin and helps reduce breakouts without drying out the skin. I did find this product to be effective and a gentle way to prevent breakouts so will probably repurchase it as well (even though it's gone up in price since I bought it back in March). Full review here.

b. Makeup Brush Cleaner

b. Makeup Brush Cleaner

As part of the B. Vegan Gift Box I received for Christmas a couple of years ago, I got the b. Makeup Brush Cleaner, which is meant to clean and condition all types of makeup brushes.

The antibacterial formula also disinfects as it cleans the brushes, while being gentle enough for everyday use on both natural and synthetic brushes.

It is very easy to use, you only need to spray 2 - 3 pumps directly onto the brush hairs then rub it onto a tissue to clean and sanitise the brush. Alternatively it can be used to just disinfect the brush if you only spray the brush without wiping the product off.

The formula contains alcohol denat to disinfect, while glycerin, panthenol and hydrolysed proteins of soy, corn and wheat leave brush bristles soft to the touch.

I would definitely recommend the b. Makeup Brush Cleaner as it can remove product build up from brushes in between washes while disinfecting them, which is ideal if you have acne prone skin like me.

This cleaner will be very handy as I am running out of my denat alcohol which I normally use to sanitise my makeup and brushes (which I get in Mexico but haven't been able to go back in over 2 years and for some reason is not sold in the UK!).

You can find the b. Makeup Brush Cleaner in store in Superdrug, or get it as part of the B. Vegan Gift Box. There is also a smaller can version of this brush cleaner, as well as an Antibacterial Makeup Brush Shampoo.

A $8 YesStyle Skincare Haul

A $8 YesStyle Skincare Haul

A couple of weeks ago I placed my 3rd YesStyle order and managed to get everything you see in the picture for less than $10, including delivery.

The only thing I actually purchased was the Benton Deep Green Tea Lotion MINI, which was on offer at $5.15, but I had 492 YS Points which paid for the product almost in full.

When I placed my order, with any Benton purchase you could get a free 30ml Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin MINI, worth $6.44.

That day YesStyle were giving away a Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule 30ml so I added it to my order at no cost.

As I am on the YesStyle Influencer Program I was able to claim a full size Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Eye Cream (worth $24.84) which I've just started using yesterday so expect a review coming soon (!)

Last but not least, they have been giving out free samples with orders recently and when I placed my order I was sent a pack of the COSRX Propolis Toner, Ampoule and Cream, as well as a Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack.

If you place an order on YesStyle use code NAV2019 for extra money off ;)

Charlotte Rhys Luxury Fragrances Have Arrived In The UK

Charlotte Rhys Luxury Fragrances

Charlotte Rhys Luxury Fragrances

Charlotte Rhys Luxury Fragrances

Charlotte Rhys Luxury Fragrances

About a week ago I was kindly sent a package from Charlotte Rhys which contained a couple of products: their Hand and Body Lotion and one of their Eau de Toilettes.

Charlotte Rhys is a premium fragrance brand that originated in South Africa and has just launched in the UK this summer. It is developed to be "Kind to you and kind to nature" with vegan friendly and cruelty free products created with sustainable practices such as biodegradable packaging.

The products I received are the Oud Blanche Eau de Toilette and No. 17 Hand and Body Lotion. My first impressions on both products were very positive as the packaging looks very luxurious with the sleek monochrome design with silver accents.

The Oud Blanche Eau de Toilette comes in a 100 ml opaque glass bottle. The Oud Blanche fragrance is described as "Enigmatic and Seductive", the top notes consist of Saffron, Rose, Bergamot and Cistus Labdanum, with a heart of Cedarwood, Patchouli, Gaiac and Apple. Vanilla, Sandalwood, Labdanum and Musk create its base notes.

Oud Blanche is a very strong fragrance so it is not for the faint-hearted. I can definitely perceive the woody and fruit notes, as well as a warm vanilla base. I would describe this perfume as a grown up version of Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire, perhaps. It has great staying power, however the strong notes seem a bit heavy for summer but I think it would make a great A/W fragrance.

The Hand & Body Lotion comes in a 300 ml white plastic bottle with an elegant, slim black pump. The No 17 fragrance is referred to as "Fresh with Woody Depth", it features top notes of Yuzu, Bergamot, Lemon and Tarragon, with Lily of the Valley, Nutmeg, Water Lily and Reseda as the heart. Cedar wood, Sandalwood, Vetiver and Musk create the base notes.

The lotion is very lightweight but nourishing thanks to the Glycerin, Coconut Oil and Baobab Seed Oil in the formula. The No 17 Hand & Body Lotion is fresher than the Oud Blanche, with a light but complex citrus fragrance that is very long lasting and is perceptible on the hands even after washing them.

You can purchase Charlotte Rhys products in the UK here.

Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfum

Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfum

Recently I received a free sample of the new Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfum, which is inspired by the wild grasses that grow in the heart of Provence.

The perfume is described as "a remarkable green, fresh floral fragrance of wild grasses mingling with explosive notes of bramble, wild rose and white nettle."

The notes on Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfume are:

Top notes: Ambrette Seed, Vert de Bergamot Essence, Pink Peppercorn

Heart notes: White Nettle Flower Accord, Wild Rose Accord, Bramble Accord, Clary Sage Essence

Base notes: Wild Grass, Captive Musk, Cashmeran.

At first I wasn't keen on the fragrance but with time it grew on me.  This perfume has a very fresh scent that turns sweeter as it dries down on the skin, which I really like as I'm a big fan of sweet and floral perfumes. Another thing I really like is the botanical illustration on the card which can be found on the box packaging.

The fragrance of Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfum is not overpowering and sadly it is not very long lasting either, but found it lingers on clothes the following day, which I was surprised by given it did not last as long on my skin.

If you enjoy fresh, sweet and floral perfumes and are looking for a new fragrance to try this summer then I would recommend Herbae Par L'Occitane Eau De Parfum. If you liked Elie Saab L'eau Couture you will probably like Herbae as well.

Superdrug B. Vitalised Vitamin Facial Spritz

Superdrug B. Vitalised Vitamin Facial Spritz

A while back I was gifted the B. Vegan Gift Box by Superdrug, which included many skincare and beauty goodies. I have previously reviewed the Clay face masks and the B. Pure micellar water from this set and now is the turn of the Vitamin Facial Spritz.

This facial spritz is meant to instantly energise to awaken the skin and it is suitable for all skin types. It also mentions that it is a refreshing skin perk-me-up that is quick and easy to use to give a well-rested radiant look and is perfect for dull, lacklustre skin.

The Vitamin Facial Spritz features Caffeine, Vitamin C and Cucumber Juice to energise, and an uplifting fragrance to "revitalise and awaken the skin".

Other ingredients in the formula worth mentioning are hydrating Glycerin, exfoliating Urea and Citric Acid; soothing Panthenol, Allantoin and Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid and 2 forms of Vitamin C.

At first I wasn't a fan of the fragrance as I found it too strong and soapy-like but it has grown on me and I quite enjoy using it now.

It is very refreshing to use on a warm summer day, but it can also be used as a toner before applying any serums and creams, so I think it is a versatile and fun product to have. I also like the inclusion of the different soothing and hydrating ingredients.

As any mist, it will leave skin hydrated and more dewy looking, however I'm not sure if it can actually brighten the skin given the vitamin C is very low on the ingredients list.

I would recommend this face mist if you are looking for a refreshing spritz with soothing and brightening properties.

Micro Lilac Bag

Micro Lilac Bag

This micro lilac bag was gifted to me by Dot last week as it was my birthday. It is too cute so it needed its own photoshoot, I used flowers from the bouquet that Dot got me for my birthday as well.

This tiny bag has a crossbody silver chain which is hidden within for the picture, a top handle and magnetic closure. It doesn't fit many things inside but it is a great way to add a pop of colour to any summer outfit.

MAC Magic Extension Mascara

MAC Magic Extension Mascara

As mentioned in my recent post on how to Get £5 off the MAC Magic Extension Mascara, MAC has recently launched a new mascara!

The Magic Extension Mascara promises to help achieve OTT exaggerated volume and make lashes look longer, fuller and lifted thanks to the use of 5mm fibres for surreal volume and length. It is enriched with colour-amplifying crystal elixir powder and the tapered brush creates root-to-tip curl.

I have tried the free sample I received a few times since that post and can now comment on the claims of the MAC Magic Extension Mascara. The fibres do help add a lot of volume to the lashes very easily, but the formula seems a bit dry to begin with, which can result in some clumping and unfortunately for me that is not an ideal look.

Another thing I didn't love about this mascara (and pretty much any mascara) is that it is not very easy to remove, this is again due to the fibres, which detach from the lashes as you apply makeup remover and end up all over the surrounding skin, and once on the skin they seem to stick onto it, so multiple swipes with remover are needed.

As I applied the mascara without curling my lashes, which are quite straight, I can't comment on how well it would hold curled lashes, but it did help lift mine slightly. It is also very black so will help darken light lashes, thicken them and make them look slightly longer.

I expected to have a lot of fallout as this is a fibre mascara, however it was minimal so no complaints from me on this matter. I also really liked the smell and it reminded me of The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara's scent.

All in all it is a good mascara if you like drier formulas that help thicken and give a clumpier look to the lashes.

You can find the MAC Magic Extension Mascara on Boots and it's coming soon to the MAC website.

Have you tried this mascara?

Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator

Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator

A few months back I purchased the Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator as I was in need of a new exfoliating toner.

The Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator contains Glycolic, Lactic, Citric, Malic and Salicylic acids, plus Pumpkin and Papaya enzymes to lightly exfoliate the skin. This toner is formulated to a pH suitable for blemish prone skin.

The instructions mention to apply it to the face and neck morning and night after cleansing, and the name implies that it can be used every day, however since my recent over-exfoliating disaster I am too scared to use it daily so have been using it for the extreme amount of... once a week.

As retinol is also in my routine a couple of nights a week and don't want to over-exfoliate ever again, I've been using this once a week and right now it feels like just the right amount.

Even though the Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator contains 5 different types of exfoliating acids, plus 2 fruit enzymes it does not dry out my skin thanks to glycerin, which is the second ingredient in the formulation.

The toner does not contain any added fragrance, and it also features soothing Aloe leaf juice to prevent irritation, so I think it would be suitable for dry and even sensitive skin.

As mentioned, I've only been using it once a week, however I can always feel a difference the next day: my skin feels much softer and smoother, and the best part is that any imperfections get significantly reduced to the point of being almost gone by the morning.

I would definitely recommend the Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator if you are looking for a gentle but effective chemical exfoliant that is non-drying.

Find the Botanical Lab Pumpkin & Papaya Enzyme Daily Exfoliator in Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug and Ocado.
