Grey coat on a grey jumper on a grey dress. One of my favourite colours - the other one is dusty pink. When I was in high school I wouldn't be caught dead wearing pink and always wore black. Now I got a new temporary job (with the possibility of getting my contract extended) I will be needing to wear all black as part of my uniform, thing is I don't own as many black pieces anymore (!) and my wardrobe consists mainly of grey and pink - say what? Gives me an excuse to go shopping, I guess.

Olay Complete Day Cream

Olay Complete Day Cream

In August I won a birthday raffle for members of an online community, and I chose the gift pack that contained the Olay Complete Day Cream in it. I've been using the Olay Complete Day Cream as my moisturiser on days that I'm not going out as I like to wear SPF every day.

The Olay Complete Day Cream for Normal/Dry skin with SPF 15 claims to give you beautiful, healthy looking skin by protecting each surface layer of the skin while pampering vitamins (B3, E and Pro-V 5) strengthen the moisture barrier and improve texture for a smooth finish.

Previously I've used the Olay SPF 15 fluids, and as this product is a cream I thought it would have a thicker consistency but it was nice to find out that the cream is very lightweight and absorbs fast without looking shiny or feeling greasy. It leaves my skin feeling soft and makes it look naturally glowing.

I quite enjoy using Olay Complete Day Cream and would recommend it if you are looking for a new day cream with sun protection in it.

Coat & Skirt

H&M Wool Coat // Uniqlo Jumper // Topshop A-Line Skirt // Clarks Chelsea Boots // Pretty Polly Tights

Got this Topshop skirt in the summer and am very glad to see it will work with autumn outfits if I layer it over tights and tucked-in cosy jumpers. It's only autumn and I'm already wearing thermals and fleece lined tights. Oh well.
And speaking of thermals and fleece lined tights, I need to stock up, so will be looking out for them on Saturday. I like to make lists of things that I like/want/need to buy, even though I never end up buying everything from my list anyway haha.

New In: September 2016

JVC bass earphones
Flower bouquet
Zebra mini pens
Dr Rescue Nail Polish
Last month it was our 4th anniversary and Dot got me some flowers, a card and pink JVC headphones.

I didn't buy much, but I did get a pack of miniature Zebra pens, a Dr. Rescue Peel Off Base coat from Maybelline, a Nailed London by Rosie Fortescue Metallic Nail Polish which will look great during holiday season, and InStyle magazine which included a Neal's Yard Geranium & Orange body lotion. I've tried the hand cream so I thought I'd go for the body one instead.

Did you get anything nice last month?

Autumn only just started and it's already mega cold :'( oh well, at least I get to wear my new coat. And speaking of new, I saw a couple of trousers in H&M that I think I'm going to need to get ;D They come in black, grey and navy pinstriped and are like joggers with an elasticated drawstring waistband but very formal looking on the length of the leg and the material is a bit thicker so they will be great for winter (plus there is room for layering underneath).

The Kills at Roundhouse, London

The Kills

On Friday Dot and I went to see The Kills at Roundhouse in London for the first time. I was so excited as they're one of my favourite bands and I waited so long to see them live. Jamie looks younger in person and Alison looks so pretty, I couldn't stop staring at her haha.

I liked Jamie's triangle scarf, band T shirt and cardigan combo, and Alison's jeans with leather panels on the bottom. When she first came out I wasn't sure if she was wearing shorts or if it was thigh high boots.

They played some of my favourite songs, including Kissy Kissy, U R A Fever, Baby Says and Echo Home. Wish they would have played Satellite, Rodeo Town, The Good Ones and Last Day of Magic. Here is the setlist for the concert:

  1. Heart of a Dog
  2. U R A Fever
  3. Kissy Kissy
  4. Hard Habit to Break
  5. Impossible Tracks
  6. Black Balloon
  7. Doing It to Death
  8. Baby Says
  9. Dead Road 7
  10. Tape Song
  11. Echo Home
  12. Let It Drop
  13. Whirling Eye
  14. Pots and Pans / Monkey 23
  15. That Love
  16. The Last Goodbye
  17. Siberian Nights
  18. Love Is a Deserter
  19. Sour Cherry
Do you like The Kills?

Olay Pore Perfector Moisturiser

Olay Pore Perfector Moisturiser
A couple of months back I started using a Simple moisturiser as a night cream just to use it up as I had run out of my night cream and after a couple of weeks, if not days, using it I noticed how my pores were looking noticeably larger, I thought I was imagining things but I definitely didn't like it so I set out to find a new night cream and stumbled upon the Olay Pore Perfector Moisturiser

The Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Pore Perfector Moisturiser helps to fight 7 signs of ageing by smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, soothing dry skin by moisturising, evening skin tone, smoothing and evening skin texture, minimising the look of pores, helping prevent surface skin damage with antioxidants and hydrating for a firm look.

As I mentioned, my pores were looking larger when using the Simple moisturiser but within the first 1 or 2 uses of the Olay Pore Perfector Moisturiser they started to look smaller, which was great. The formula is very lightweight and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy or sticky nor looking shiny. It mentions it can be worn under makeup, however I only use it as a night cream. So if you are looking for a light moisturiser that also minimises pores, try this one out. I would definitely buy it again in the future.

Everything Happens For A Reason

roses and carnations

Today I had no time during the day to write a post (could have written it yesterday, yes I know) but I didn't have planned to go out today so yeah. Anyway as the title says, I think I'm starting to believe in destiny, which I wasn't ever sure about before. In other news, I applied for a job that sounds like something I would like to do very much so I really hope I hear back from them soon. Exciting times could be just around the corner.
