Just watched Green Room with my husband. It was an intense, dramatic film that follows a band that witnesses a dead body in the backstage room at a music venue, so they get taken hostage and try to find their way out of there. I really liked it as drama is probably my favourite genre of films, so if you like it as well check it out.

Nivea Q10 Energising Day Cream

Nivea Q10 Energising Day Cream

As I recently finished this cream, I better write about it before I forget what it was like ha! As usual, got this product as I was running out of my previous one, and since we were going into colder months decided to go for a creamier formula instead of a lotion.

The Nivea Q10 plus anti wrinkle Energising Day Cream claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles thanks to Creatine and Q10; and to reawaken the skin for a fresh, radiant look thanks to goji berry extract that reduces the signs of fatigue. It also helps protect against sun-induced wrinkles with its SPF 15 UVA & UVB.

The Nivea Q10 Energising Day Cream has a light and creamy texture that gets absorbed into the skin quite fast, it does leave it looking a tiny bit on the shiny/glowy side but it's not overly greasy or uncomfortable to wear. I would probably get it again in the future but I won't give up looking for the perfect mattifying moisturiser for my oily skin.

Penultimate look post with the old hair, though if you really want to see it go to my instagram where I posted a picture of it a while back. Don't know if I mentioned this before but I love this denim jacket from H&M, it's comfortable, thick but not too warm, so perfect for a chilly summer day, love the silver hardware, the distressing on it and the secret pockets inside, which fit my phone perfectly! I'm still on the lookout for a pair of leather sandals, light wash jeans and/or shorts and maybe a straw hat too.

Not For Me: L'oreal Paris Super Liner Slim Intense Eyeliner

Not For Me: L'oreal Paris Super Liner Slim Intense Eyeliner
Quite a few months back I purchased the L'oreal Paris Super Liner Slim Intense Eyeliner as my current eye liner pen was running out. Big. Mistake. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, it wasn't that horrible but I don't think I will be ever purchasing the L'oreal Paris Super Liner Slim Intense Eyeliner again, here's why:

First of all, the applicator nib/tip/pen is very scratchy, definitely felt the difference from the Maybelline one.
Second, the pen starts to dry out when you are in the middle of doing your makeup - not very convenient.
Third: the colour is not as black as the Maybelline one, by the end of it's life, the L'oreal pen was providing me with a lovely sheer black almost grey line. Definitely not what I want.
Fourth, it doesn't last nearly as long. I remember using the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner pen for months on end, and with the L'oreal one, after only a couple of months I could already tell it was the beginning of the end (I didn't even use it every single day)
Fifth: the tip of the pen started fraying and the ink wasn't evenly distributed to the tip of the pen, so couldn't use it to get sharp, jet black lines.
Sixth: the colour fades after a few hours - who has time to reapply eye liner?
Seventh: It's a bit more expensive than the Maybelline one, so I thought I was upgrading my liner but turns out I was actually downgrading and it was a bit of a waste of money because I just didn't love it.

Quite disappointed with this product, but worry not, I've gone back to my trusty Maybelline liner.
If you want to try the L'oreal Paris Super Liner Slim Intense Eyeliner you can find it in Boots.

Finally got to wear my beloved new a-line button up skirt from Topshop, which was great. But then the weather turned into a rainy and cloudy mess, not so great. Anyway, I think this weekend we might be going to Westfield to do a bit of shopping. Hoping to get some of my summer must have and wishlist pieces that I haven't been able to find yet.

h&m denim jacket
garnier ultimate blends blonde illuminator
topshop a-line skirt
primark rose gold aviator sunglasses

On the first day of the month, Dot got me a mug with my initial, it is from Homebase (not pictured but you can see it on my instagram). Then the day after it was bank holiday Monday and we went to Lakeside, where I got my H&M denim jacket - it's quite a fitted style but I wanted it oversized so I got a it couple sizes bigger.

In Boots I got their free magazine and also Glamour, and since I needed a new conditioner I decided to get the Garnier Ultimate Blends the blonde illuminator conditioner, and since it was on offer I got the blonde illuminator hair oil as well in order to lighten my hair naturally a bit for summer. Needed a new eye liner and mascara as I wasn't loving the ones I was using, so got the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner; all of these things I got for free with my Boots points ;D

Another item of clothing was this Topshop A-line button up skirt with a retro 60s/70s feel to it. I remember seeing it last year and thinking the style was horrid, but fell in love with it a few months back and kept looking for it in every topshop until I found it at an Outfit shop, tried it on and brought it home with me haha.

Also was in need of a new shampoo and got a basic but really good one from what I remember after using it a couple of years back - the Dove Daily Moisture shampoo (again, not pictured). And last but not least, a pair of rose gold mirrored lens aviator glasses from Primark.

Did you get anything new recently?

Yesterday I went to have my hair cut, I still have some pictures of outfits that I haven't uploaded so you can't see it yet haha. I kept it long but added more layers as it was starting to get a bit too much being nearly all of it the same length. I wanted more of a V shape at the back but the hairdressers thought it would be a good idea to keep it straight so not to lose length on the front. I'm starting to think they can't do anything other than straight cuts.

John Frieda Full Repair Styling Spray

John Frieda Full Repair Styling Spray
Ages ago I was sent most of the Full Repair haircare line by John Frieda, Styling Spray included. At the time I was using another heat protecting product but I ran out since so started using this one.

A heat protecting product is a must if you use blow dry or use hot tools on your hair and want to keep it looking and feeling nice and soft. I used to iron my hair quite a bit around a decade ago (!) but stopped. Since moving to the UK and encountering cold and long winters, I do need to dry my hair because if I don't, my head just feels like it's frozen and more often than not, I get a cold.

The John Frieda Full Repair Styling Spray contains Inchi Inca Oil and claims to improve manageability, create natural movement and provide long lasting hold to any hair style, as well as heat protecting your hair from heat and leaving your hair shiny.

The spray smells nice, but the scent doesn't linger, and after using it my hair is more manageable, very soft and a bit shinier. I don't really use it for styling (like curling or straightening) but after blow drying it, there are no kinks or flyaways and my hair is not weighed down, so it is a great option for fine haired ladies. On summary, I do like it and would purchase it.

H&M Denim Jacket // Topshop Bag // H&M Striped Top // Uniqlo Skirt // New Look Shoes

Since last year (or was it the year before?) I had a denim jacket on my wishlist but couldn't find one that I really liked. Last month while having a look in H&M in Lakeside I saw this jacket in a light denim blue with distressed details. I approached it to find my size but could only find a size smaller or 2 and 3 times bigger. I tried on the bigger one and then my husband managed to find my size somewhere else in the store for me to try it on. I decided to try the bigger one on again as the one in my size was quite fitted and not what I wanted. I ended up getting a size 12 or 14 as I loved the oversized look. The sleeves are a bit long because of the size but it's not really a problem as I can roll them up. I love the distressed details, the silver hardware, the secret pockets inside and how it is thick but soft and great for keeping me warm on a breezy summer day.

Love, Want, Need

spring & summer must haves
I present to you the updated spring & summer wish list:

Olympea EDP £40: A fresh oriental fragrance with jasmine, mandarin and vanilla would make a nice spring, summer fragrance.
Uniqlo x Lemaire Linen Shirt £12.90: as the temperatures rise, the need for lighter and more breathable fabrics grow, this would be a great option.
MUA Nourish & Care Mascara £3: This mascara with avocado oil claims to nourish lashes, the use of other natural ingredients in it gives me a good feeling about this product.
MUA Compact Eyelash Curler £2:  an eyelash curler that fits in the palm of your hand? Sold.
Manuka Doctor Normalising Face Oil £20: claims to smooth uneven skin tone, reduce redness and refine the appearance of pores. Must. Have.
H&M Denim Shorts £20: A basic for any summer wardrobe, the distressed look adds a nice detail.
Primark Reese's PJs £8: They used to be my favourite chocolate when I was younger, this summery pjs would be a nice homage to them

Gosh Mineral Foundation £8: Light to medium coverage that is matte? Sign me up.
Matalan Bread Shaped Plate £2: An adorable and quirky plate to put your food on.

First, it took me so long to find the A-line skirt that I wanted in Topshop, then when I finally got it, the weather got cold again so it's been a few weeks now since I got it and haven't been able to wear it, I just don't want to be wearing it with tights, it's nearly June! Anyway on other news, might be off work on Friday then I have a week off next because of half term, yay!

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil in Cream for Dry, Rough Hair

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil in Cream Dry Hair

I received the L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil in Cream for Dry, Rough Hair to try and review. This product can be used on both dry and wet hair.

I applied a walnut sized amount to wet hair and let it dry naturally. When I got the product out I rubbed my hands together to spread it more easily, but one thing I noticed is how it just melts so quickly with the warmth of your hands, so it is very easy to apply and spread through the hair. It also smells really nice and slightly sweet, though the scent doesn't linger on the hair so it won't clash with any perfume you might be wearing.

It makes my hair feel very soft and reduces frizz considerably (my hair can get very fluffy looking if left to dry naturally) without weighing it down, so you don't have to worry about ending up with flat hair. I really like it and definitely recommended if you are looking to achieve softer and smoother hair.

(Similar: Coat, Jumper, Boots, Backpack )

You might have noticed this backpack amongst the items in my March New In post, and that I mentioned I actually returned/exchanged it for a wallet in the latest New In post. Why? Well I actually really liked the backpack's design and spacious interior but I discovered a faulty bit of stitching on one of the straps, and even though you couldn't really see it, it was bothering me a bit. Also I set the straps to be the shortest length possible but it still wasn't short enough (short girl problems) and it was giving me a bit of a backache when I used it, so yeah. On a trip to the TK Maxx near Lakeside I found an Osprey wallet and exchanged the backpack for it.

Last month I purchased quite a few things but most of them were things that I needed as I was running out on currently used products. Looking to have a place to fit my money AND cards in one place, I got a leather wallet in pastel colours by Osprey London (I actually returned the backpack and got the wallet). Ran out of nail polish remover and was running low on moisturiser so got the Cutex Moisture guard and the Garnier Moisture Bomb

When we went to renew my passport got a cotton cashmere jumper from Uniqlo and a mirror, tray and ring holder from Muji. Running low on face scrub and hair mask, got a Botanics scrub and the Tresemme Oleo Radiance hair mask. Found the Korres moisturiser on sale so got it.

Since I've been recording a couple of videos for youtube, I got a little stand in the shape of a pig from Primark, and a free lipstick with the Listerine moutwash: Maybelline Pleasure Me Red. And found the cutest Moomins address book in the Factory Shop.

Wearing something other than skinny jeans? Who would have thought?
After being inspired by numerous hours spent on instagram and pinterest, I decided to try something other than skinny jeans and trousers, and this time I went for a slim or tapered leg jogger, which are surprisingly flattering and very comfortable. When worn with loafers they actually look much more formal than their jogger name would suggest. They can be worn during the winter and in the summer. Needless to say, I absolutely love them and the pointy loafers too!
Another thing that I'm loving is how the pictures are turning out with my new 50 mm lens, they look brighter and I can finally get that blurry background effect that I wanted.
