Sukin Rose Hip Oil

Sukin Rose Hip Oil

I've spoken about the Sukin Rose Hip Oil in my Winter Beauty Essentials post, but this stuff is just too good not to dedicate it a post on it's own.

I have been using this oil for a few months now, and I love that it is not greasy at all but at the same time it's very moisturising. I have generally oily skin and this oil makes it less oily, doesn't make me break out and makes my skin look plumper and feel softer.

As it has a 44.1% Linoleic Acid vs 13.9% Oleic Acid content, it's great for people with oily and acne prone skin. This particular brand is certified organic and preservative free, great if you are concerned about the provenance of your beauty products.

At night I apply 2 drops (sometimes 3 if my skin is feeling a bit tight or dry after a face mask or peel) after spraying on some rose water to my face, which helps it absorb more easily, then apply my serum and night cream on top. I might use 1 drop during the day occasionally to add extra hydration.

If you are looking for an extra moisture boost in your skincare routine that doesn't feel heavy on the skin, then I would definitely recommend the Sukin Rose Hip Oil.

Have you tried it?

Photowall Custom Canvas

Photowall Canvas

Last month I was contacted by the lovely people at Photowall to offer me a free product. Photowall is a Swedish brand that specialises in wall murals and canvas prints. They have a big selection of designs which you can use, or you can upload your own picture.

I uploaded my own picture, which is from our wedding day. I chose the smallest possible size of canvas for my picture (40 x 50 cm) as I didn't want a giant canvas that I wouldn't be able to find a space for, but the sizes range from 40 x 40 cm to 150 x 150 cm. You can order the canvas only or with a wooden frame (that you put together yourself) to hold your canvas.

The wooden frame was easy to assemble following the instructions included in the package and the delivery was quite fast, considering it comes all the way from Sweden! The canvas is really good quality and would make a nice gift for a friend or family member.

Photowall was also generous enough to provide me with a 20% discount code for my readers: IHINCampaign2018. The code is available for 30 days only and it is live until the 15th of February.

Have you ordered something from Photowall?

A New Start

Succulent plant

Hello! Hope you had an amazing start of the year. I will try and make this year better after a bit of a meh one last year. I started by decluttering a bit (I'm far from done) but yeah I just want to have a tidy, calm environment that will help me have more peace of mind and be more creative.

Having a lot of stuff lying around (or in general) can be quite stressful as there are more things you are responsible for cleaning, washing, putting away, etc. Plus a clean, tidy space makes you feel more relaxed and you'll be able to focus your energy on things that matter and what you actually want to do, instead of constantly thinking about all of the cluttering material things, which can be very draining.

What about you? How has your year been so far?

J F Rabbit's Drinks
H&M Mohair Jumper

White Roses

Last month I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of minis by Kat Von D from Glamour magazine, including a sample of the Sinner and Saint Perfumes, a Studded Kiss Lipstick in Mercy and the Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Then I got the Dove Daily Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner as it is one of the very few shampoos that don't dry my scalp out. Also from Dove, I got the Absolute Quench hair mask and the GoFresh Aluminium free deodorant from the pound shop.

I won a competition from J F Rabbit where I got a set of their Flavoured Waters and a tote bag. Got a new mohair jumper from H&M during the November sales.

Then I won another competition and received some goodies from Dunelm, including a duck feather-filled wool cushion, a multi wick candle and a pineapple tray

Been getting into baths again so I got some Epsom salts. And Dot got me some magazines (one of which came free Percy & Reed Wonder Balm) and flowers because I was feeling a bit down.

Winter Fashion at Zaful

There are a lot of options for looking stylish with all the clothes and accessories available at Zaful - take a look at their Christmas deals, these are a few of my favourites:

Winter Accessories at Zaful

I think the velvet bag is such a luxurious accessory to add to any party outfit, the earrings offer an edgy but classy look and the beret will keep you looking warm and stylish, for more accessory ideas take a look at Christmas 2017 Zaful

The yellow coat might be a bit bright but I find it would look great in milder Autumn and Spring weather, whereas the plaid coat is a great statement piece for Winter.

As you can see, I'm a big fan of accessories and outerwear, and if so are you then do have a look at some of Zaful's Christmas deals 2017

OGX Kukui Hair Oil

OGX Kukui Hair Oil

A few months back I won a set of OGX products in a competition, including the OGX Kukui Hydrating Oil, which is a hair oil meant to help with frizzy hair thanks to the use of Hawaiian Kukui nut oil, known for it's humidity repelling properties, leaving your hair shiny and with a smooth texture.

What I really like about this oil is the scent, it's quite tropical, smells a little like coconut. It is also very lightweight - thanks to the use of silicones in the formula. It absorbs (or evaporates?) quite fast and leaves my hair feeling soft and it does help with smoothness.

What I don't love about it is the packaging, that pump is very hard to press down, especially with just one hand (which is what you normally do with pump products), also the product is not that nourishing so if you have really dry hair you might not find this very hydrating.

Find OGX Kukui Hair Oil in Superdrug.

Have you tried this oil?

Walking

Miniature Pink Flowers

Yesterday I walked to work and it was drizzling, it seemed fine until a few meters down the road I realised maybe I should have brought my umbrella, but it was too late to go back and get it. I didn't get too wet so it was ok ha.

Summer Fun

Rosegal Straw bag & Tassel earrings
Rosegal Tassel earrings

Dreaming of summer with these pieces from Rosegal. Can't wait for the next round of warm weather to style them with summery outfits. The straw bag has a very grown up, ladylike shape and details to it, and the earrings have the classic tassel design but with some added sparkle.
