This outfit is a little bit (or a big bit) Audrey Hepburn inspired with the striped knit top, cropped cigarette trousers, black loafers and a straw bag. I really like it because it is monochrome, easy to wear, comfortable and versatile. These trousers I got years ago and had only worn once for a job interview, didn't wear them again because of the cropped factor but they're actually great for summer. I wore this on a Saturday and when we got back from the town I changed to go to Wat Tyler park, where I got pooped on by a bird. The only good thing about that was my bag didn't match my outfit change so I swapped bags as well. If it had gotten on this bag I would have had to throw it away (yep I threw my other bag away as it was only a jute shopper bag).

New in: June 2016

Last month I only got a couple of bits that I really liked and needed (just the way I like it haha). I wanted some black denim shorts and got these from H&M when they had some money off and free delivery. Got the cutest toast shaped plate and it is from Matalan.

Then because my last umbrella broke somehow and I don't even know when that happened, I had to buy another one, this one is from Primark. Ignore the brush pens, I returned them as they weren't what I expected. 

On a trip to Westfield I found the pink Topshop sweatshirt that I wanted for ages, also a pink T shirt from H&M and the Olay pore minimising cream. 

Last but not least, a leather card holder that Dot got for me from Topshop.

By the way, Dot booked tickets for us to go to Mexico next month!

Today was my last day of work until september, so feeling quite relaxed now as I can rest and do whatever I want haha. Later we might go out for dinner after Dot comes back from work. Hopefully with the extra time I have on my hands now I will be making more videos ;D

A Mermaid Tail Knitted Blanket By Rosegal

Fashion 2016 Fish Scale Tail Shape Sleeping Bag Mermaid Design Knitting Blanket

The lovely people at Rosegal contacted me recently to do a collaboration where I could select a product from their website and I chose this fabulous knitted mermaid tail blanket. 

I've seen mermaid blankets around somewhere (read pinterest, instagram and tumblr) and at first I thought that it was a normal blanket shaped to look like a mermaid tail, but after further inspection, and a look at a few more pictures that popped up here and there, I realised that it was in fact, a blanket with the actual shape of a mermaid's tail. 

I know we're in the middle of the summer but a blanket always comes in handy, especially when it gets cold again (which I'm not looking forward to right now, thanks), but when I saw this blanket on the Rosegal website I couldn't resist and ordered it without a second thought. 

The mermaid tail I chose is in the colour plum, and has a knit pattern that makes it look like fish scales, plus the raised texture of the scales makes for tiny air pockets which will keep you extra warm when you're lounging around the house. The blanket is very comfortable, and the colour is made out of a purple and pink yarn knitted together, which gives it a nice pastel lilac look. 

The mermaid tail blanket has a chunky but soft texture and is actually very long: without the fin, when stretched out I can cover up to my shoulders with it. To make it easy to slide in and out of the blanket, it has a slit on the back all the way down to the knees area. So all in all I can't really fault this blanket and would recommend it if you like mermaids, kooky things, and keeping warm all at the same time.

Last week Dot's haircut appointment got cancelled as they were running late, they rescheduled it for Saturday at around 9 in the morning, so he's going to town to have his haircut while I get ready at home and then we might go to Lakeside when he comes back. I did get a couple of beauty buys last week but I still have more things on my list that I am looking for.

The first outfit post with my new hair cut! It does look a tiny bit shorter even though I asked to keep the length but it will grow back, so it's ok ha. On Saturday Dot is going to have his hair cut so I will be let loose in the shops, let's see what I can find.

Chrysanthemums

Picture of pretty chrysanthemums I got a few months ago, to make the room look more spring-like. Summer is finally here, since last month actually but I haven't really felt it, which is despairing as I have been collecting quite a few summer pieces since around march or april and haven't been able to wear them because it hasn't been hot enough for them. I got a skirt from Topshop that I managed to wear twice, but the rest (denim shorts, long sleeve T, lightweight jumper, t shirt, basket style bag) is still waiting for me to wear it. I do love to wear layers and my favourite items are probably knitwear and coats but I've had enough after wearing them non stop for over 6 months. Also it would be great to be able to photograph new outfits for the blog!
