Jurlique Rare Rose Serum & Cream

Jurlique Rare Rose Serum & Cream

Jurlique Rare Rose Serum & Cream

Jurlique Rare Rose Serum & Cream

A couple of weeks ago I was kindly gifted the Jurlique Rare Rose Serum & Cream.

The Rare Rose range is designed to intensely boost moisture to help replenish, hydrate and restore skin's radiance.

The Jurlique Rare Rose Serum* comes packaged in a pink cardboard box with the Jurlique logo embossed on the front. Inside it contains a weighted pink frosted glass bottle that looks and feels luxurious and pretty.

The only think I did not love about the packaging is the cap, that while it protects the pump from being pressed accidentally, it does not cover the nozzle so any leftover product in it can dry out.

Notable ingredients include nourishing Rosehip and Safflower Oils, Jurlique Rose and Dwarf Lilyturf Root extracts to protect from moisture loss (the latter being a botanical hyaluronic acid alternative); soothing Calendula and Lavender extracts, plus vitamin E.

The Jurlique Rare Rose has a beautiful scent of fresh roses and a lightweight gel texture that absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated. It has a velvety finish on the skin and also seems to reduce redness.

The delightful rose scent lingers on the skin and can be perceived even hours later.

Even though the Jurlique Rare Rose Serum includes oils, it never feels heavy or greasy so I believe it would make a great hydrating and soothing serum for all skin types.

The Jurlique Rare Rose Cream*, like the serum, comes packaged in a pink cardboard box with the Jurlique logo embossed on the front. The pink glass jar features smooth glass, a white cap with the Jurlique logo and a stopper inside.

Notable ingredients include nourishing Rosehip Seed Oil and Cupuacu Butter (a botanical hyaluronic acid alternative), plus Jurlique's blend of Rose, Lavender, Marshmallow Root, and Calendula extracts for radiant and soothed skin.

The Rare Rose Cream has a beautiful rose fragrance (although slightly warmer and less intense than the serum) however, it is also perceivable a couple of hours after application. I believe this is due to the slow-releasing microcapsules of Jurlique Rose Extract, which continue to moisturise the skin throughout the day.

Only a small amount is needed to cover the whole face and neck. It has a medium consistency and does not feel heavy on my oily skin, providing light moisture without looking or feeling greasy. It leaves skin with a very glowy, hydrated and radiant appearance.

Athough it is designed for normal to dry skin, I believe it would also be suitable for oily skin even if only used as a night cream.

The Kills live at Rough Trade East, God Games presentation 18 September 2023

On Monday we went to see The Kills' new album God Games presentation at Rough Trade East in London.

I've been following their musical journey for about 15 years and have seen them live with Dotcito at the Roundhouse a few years ago but this was a completely different experience and much more intimate as, even though the event sold out, only had 300 people capacity.

It was amazing, we heard a couple of songs off the yet-to-be-released album (including Going to Heaven, Love and Tenderness My Girls My Girls, Wasterpiece, Bullet Piece and Better Days), then there was an interview section where I even got to ask The Kills a question just for fun which made them laugh (I got nervous and think I stuttered and my voice broke!).

It was fascinating to watch Jamie and Alison interacting with each other, so cute!

After the panel they played a small acoustic set including 103 and New York from God Games, as well as some older songs: Baby Says and Pull a U.

At the end we got the chance to get a poster print signed and I even got a picture with them.

I loved Alison's Celine jacket as well as her shirt but I forgot to ask her where the latter was from. Also really liked Jamie's loafers!

I'm starting to build a collection of pictures alongside my indie rock idols (see my Peter Doherty at The Royal Albert Hall post). Just need one with Julian Casablancas now 🤭

StyleKorean kindly sent me a package of TOCOBO skincare to try and review!

I received the following products:

AHA BHA Lemon Toner: contains 38% Lemon Extact plus AHA and BHA to gently exfoliate the skin. It also contains Sphingomonas Ferment Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin and Hyaluronic Acid.

The packaging is so cute, I love the lemon shaped lid!

It has a medium viscosity texture but absorbs easily into the skin. It also has a slightly sour lemon scent that doesn't linger. Even though it contains Rosemary Leaf Oil it did not cause any irritation. It helped soften and smooth my skin however I believe that the inclusion of Alcohol Denat. also dried my skin out a bit.

Collagen Brightening Eye Gel Cream: infused with 81% Lavender Water plus Collagen, Quartz Jewel Water, Retinol and D-Panthenol at 1000ppm each.

It comes in a sleek lilac tinted tube with a fine nozzle and screw cap. The text on the box was hard to read as it uses red font but luckily all information is also available online.

The weightless gel is easy to dispensed thanks to its light texture and the fine nozzle applicator.

This Eye Gel features a lavender scent and tiny shimmering quartz particles which make it visually very appealing. It is extremely lightweight but very hydrating, it absorbs fast and layers well under other products.

Bifida Biome Essence: this essence is designed to soothe and strengthen the skin barrier thanks to ferments of Bifida at 45%, Lactobacillus at 50,000ppm and Lactococcus at 10,000ppm. It also provides brightening and anti-wrinkle care with Niacinamide and Adenosine; plus hydration with several sugar derived ingredients, including Glycerin, Sucrose, Glucose, Sugarcane Extract,  Fructose, and Fructooligosaccharides.

It has a strong floral scent, has a light consistency with medium viscosity that absorbs quickly and layers well with other products.

I have been using it consistently twice a day for about 3 weeks and can attest to its soothing properties. My skin feels hydrated, soft, and looks more even as redness is considerably reduced.

I love the packaging's colour palette plus it feels so luxurious with the frosted glass bottle. One of my favourite products from this Try Me Review Me!

Multi Ceramide Cream: features Triple Hyaluronic Acid at 10% and Multi Ceramide Complex at 1000ppm to intensely hydrate and strengthen the skin barrier. It also contains Shea Butter, Chlorella Extract, Panthenol and several hydrating sugar derivatives including Glycerin Fructooligosaccharides, Fructose and Beta-Glucan.

This cream has a whipped texture that melts into the skin and does not feel heavy on my oily complexion. It is both lightweight but nourishing at the same time and has a floral scent that matches the Essence.

The packaging is absolutely beautiful, it features a textured frosted glass jar with a pastel blue lid. It feels luxurious and is nice to look at. Will definitely keep it for storage or even just for decoration. Another favourite from this TMRM!

Vita Glazed Lip Mask: this overnight lip mask can be used also as a daily lip balm to help moisturise and smooth lips by using Olive Oil at 30,000 ppm, plus Vita Skin E and Pomegranate Oleoactif (both at 100ppm).

It also contains Sea buckthorn, Jojoba and Moringa Seed Oils for deep nourishment and Lactobionic Acid to gently exfoliate.

The rich formula coats the lips without stickiness and leaves a super glossy finish which I love. It makes lips look plump and feel instantly soft and moisturised with a sweet fruity scent.

It comes with a spatula to dispense and apply product, which I found easy to use.

The outer packaging is adorable with its floral and gingham design in pastel colours, and the frosted glass pot is almost like a work of art, beautiful and decorative. Another amazing product from this TMRM!

I really enjoyed this Try Me Review me and would recommend every product as I believe they would be suitable for all skin types.

isntree Sunscreen Collection

isntree Hyaluronic Acid, Onion Newpair, Yam Root Milk Tone Up Sunscreen
isntree Hyaluronic Acid, Onion Newpair, Yam Root Milk Tone Up Sunscreen

Recently I received a set of 3 isntree sunscreens from Picky to test and review:

Hyaluronic Acid Daily Sun Gel SPF 30 PA+++

It features 10 types of Hyaluronic Acid and Beta-Glucan for a hydrating formula, as well as Niacinamide; plus soothing Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Ectoin, Centella Asiatica, Nymphaea Alba Flower and Houttuynia Cordata Extracts; as well as Portulaca Oleracea Extract and Adenosine for anti-ageing effects.

This Sun Gel has a lightweight consistency that gently moisturises the skin without feeling greasy. It is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin. It layers well with other products and does not irritate my skin.

Onion Newpair Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++

This non-comedogenic sunscreen is designed with blemish-prone skin in mind. It contains Onion Bulb Extract and Multi Vita Complex (Vitamins B3, B5, E and K) to soothe breakouts and to promote a brighter and even complexion.

It also contains mattifying Kaolin, collagen-stimulating Adenosine, soothing Allantoin and Glycoproteins to provide a blurring effect.

This sunscreen is lightweight and features a purple tint that blends seamlessly onto the skin to brighten it and neutralise yellow undertones. It doesn't feel heavy nor it caused any redness or breakouts. It also improves the look of texture and layers well with other products.

It is free from artificial fragrance however it does have a natural sweet scent that is not overpowering and does not linger.

Yam Root Milk Tone Up Sun Cream SPF 50 PA++++

This sunscreen features a foundation effect, non-drying finish and skin barrier protection, and is formulated with Andong Yam Root Extract plus 5% Panthenol to provide moisture and strengthen the skin barrier.

Other notable ingredients include Niacinamide, and Vegan Milk Complex (rice, bean and oats extracts) for a moisturising and firming effect; plus Hyaluronic Acid, Adenosine and Vitamin E.

It uses physical filters Zinc and Titanium Dioxide, which are known to leave a white cast. To avoid that, the product is tinted to provide a tone-up finish.

As I don't usually wear foundation I like to apply this sunscreen over a non-tinted one. Something that I really like about it is that it helps even out my skin tone while also filling out small to medium-sized pores which give the appearance of smoother looking skin,

The tone is a bit light for me however, only a small amount is needed for a brighter, more even look to the skin. It blends well and makes my skin look less oily. It would be nice to have this in more shades.

All 3 sunscreens feature the classic isntree leaf design on the front of the box and tube. I like the minimal-design and colour-coded packaging as it makes it quick and easy to identify which product you want to use.

They all come packaged in a recycled paper box made from discarded green tea and printed with soy ink which allows easier paper recycling.

Have you tried isntree sunscreens?

PURITO Deep Sea Droplet Serum + Water Cream

@skincarestationery PURITO haul featuring the Deep Sea Droplet Serum and Deep Sea Water Cream 🌊 #skincarehaul #asmrhaul #skincaretexture #peptides #purito #kbeauty #textureshot @PURITO @Picky | Kbeauty 💌 ♬ Sunshine - WIRA

A couple of weeks ago I received a couple of PURITO products from the Deep Sea range to test and review.

The PURITO Deep Sea Droplet Serum comes packaged in a white cardboard box, containing inside a sturdy clear plastic bottle with a light blue gradient label and a removable rounded cap. It uses a pump to dispense the product.

This serum is designed to hydrate and nourish the skin thanks to a Marine Complex and Snow Mushroom. With over 66% Deep Sea Water, Glycerin, Hydrolysed Glycosaminoglycans, Tremella Extract & Polysaccharides, plus Glasswort and Algae Extracts, this serum leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft.

It also features Ectoin and Allantoin to soothe, as well as Adenosine, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Copper Tripeptide-1, which have anti-ageing properties.

It is recommended to use 2 to 3 pumps however, I find that 2 or even just one pump is enough for my whole face.

The Deep Sea Droplet Serum is a very lightweight and hydrating fragrance-free serum that does not irritate my skin. It layers well with other products and the nearly-invisible capsules dissolve easily on application, leaving no residue.

Would definitely recommend this serum if you are looking for a gentle, hydrating serum with peptides.

The PURITO Deep Sea Water Cream comes in a recycled cardboard box holding inside a large pharmaceutical-looking tube with a screw-on cap.

The cream is designed to provide deep hydration from the inside out and balance the skin's oil-water levels thanks to 60% Deep Sea Water and 2% Niacinamide, plus Sodium Hyaluronate. Other notable ingredients include soothing Panthenol, several Marine Extracts, Macadamia Seed Oil, Adenosine and Arginine.

This moisturiser appears to have a gel-cream texture, however, it is more occlusive thanks to silicones but does not feel heavy on my oily skin when applied.

The Deep Sea Water Cream is easy to dispense and apply; it is unscented and gentle on the skin. It moisturises well and layers well under sunscreen. It is comfortable to wear and has slight blurring properties.

The only thing I don't love is that the packaging doesn't match each other but it would not deter me from using or repurchasing these products.

I would love to see an eye cream with peptides in this range and also ceramides added into the current range.

Find the PURITO Deep Sea Droplet Serum + Water Cream on YesStyle and use code NAV2019 for money off your next order.
