Demiki Clarifying Shampoo

Demiki Clarifying Shampoo

A couple of weeks ago I received the Demiki Clarifying Shampoo, kindly sent to me by the brand.

This shampoo is designed with very mild surfactants, including Cocamidopropyl Betaine, to gently cleanse the hair and scalp, and Citric Acid for pH balance.

With Extracts of Cranberry, Swertia and Rosa Damascena Flower to help control oil while infusing the hair with a beautiful rose fragrance, plus Hydrolysed Keratin for smooth and shiny hair.

I am really enjoying the Demiki Clarifying Shampoo as it is very effective but gentle and smells beautiful, while leaving my hair feeling soft.

It did not cause any dandruff or irritate my scalp and the pump action is so handy to dispense just the right amount you need each time.

I would recommend this product if you are looking for a gentle, balancing shampoo that also smells amazing.

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Range

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Range

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Range

A couple of weeks ago I received a package with Heimish Moringa Ceramide skincare products, kindly sent to me by the brand.

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Collagen Enriched Moisturiser:

It comes in a glass bottle decorated with a silver flower detail and dispenses the product using a pump with a lock mechanism.

This moisturiser is designed to nourish the skin with Eco Moringa Ceramide, infused with fermented moringa oil.

Other notable ingredients include: Mineral Oil, Anise Fruit Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Shea Butter, Collagen Extract, Ceramide NP, Phytosphingosine, Tocopherol, Beta-Glucan, Centella Asiatica Extract, Gardenia F. Fruit Extract and Cocoa Extract.

It has a medium consistency that feels very nourishing and relieves any dryness and tightness from the skin. It also has a delicate floral scent which I like and leaves my skin feeling soft, with a subtle glow.

It can feel a bit heavy due to the mineral oil so I think it would be best suited for dry skin types.

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Watery Sunscreen:

This sunscreen comes in a sleek off-white plastic tube with a silver screw-cap.

It is infused with 10 types of Hyaluronic Acid and Eco Moringa Ceramide, and designed to protect from UVA and UVB rays with SPF 50+ PA++++.

Other important ingredients include: Cynanchum Atratum Extract, Shea Butter, Hollyhock Extract, Myrothamnus Flabellifolia Extract, Vitamin E, Phytosphingosine, Beta-Glucan and Ascorbic Acid.

It has a gel-cream texture that is easy to apply onto the skin, it absorbs fast and leaves no white cast. It is lightly moisturising and leaves skin glowing.

It has a light fragrance but does not sting my eyes or irritate my skin.

I think it would be great for all skin types.

Heimish Moringa Ceramide Hyaluronic Hydrating Cream:

It comes in a frosted glass jar with a branded lid and a stopper inside. It is designed with Eco Moringa Ceramide and Ceramide Liposome, plus Micro Hyaluronic Acid and Selaginella Lepidophylla Extract to moisturise and hydrate dry skin.

Other notable ingredients include: Arginine, Macadamia Oil, Allantoin, Shea Butter, Beta-Glucan and Vitamin E.

The texture of this cream is quite light, which I like. It also has a nice floral scent and leaves skin feeling moisturised, with a subtle glow.

To me it feels lighter than the Moisturiser version as this does not contain Mineral Oil, so it is great for oily skin, and for both day and night use.

Have you tried the Heimish Moringa Ceramide Range?

It is available at YesStyle, use code NAV2019 for money off your next order.

Kaine Vegan Skincare

Kaine Vegan Skincare

Kaine Vegan Skincare

Kaine Vegan Skincare
@skincarestationery Recently I was kindly sent a set of Kaine products to try and review. The set I received included: 🥦 Kaine Rosemary Relief Gel Cleanser: it has a light texture that lathers well and leaves skin feeling clean and moisturised. It uses gentle surfactants and Glycerin to avoid stripping the skin, plus Panthenol and Rosemary Extract to soothe. The addition of BHA makes it great for oily and breakout-prone skin like mine. I like how it is non-irritating and effective in cleansing the skin. It does have a very strong 'green' smell that I did not enjoy due to the Cabbage, Celery, Spinach, Broccoli, Cucumber and Lettuce extracts. 🍵 Kaine Kombu Balancing Ampoule Toner: it has a watery consistency that absorbs very fast while hydrating the skin. Notable ingredients include 60% Black Tea Ferment, Sugarcane and Cocoa Seed Extracts, 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol at 1%, Allantoin, Beta-Glucan and Tocopherol. My skin feels soothed, hydrated and lightly moisturised and redness appears reduced when using this fragrance-free toner. 🍵 Kaine Kombu Barrier Ampoule: this lightweight ampoule has some viscosity to it, however, it absorbs quickly and gently moisturises the skin. Infused with 73% Kombucha (Black Tea Ferment), Panthenol at 5% and Ceramide Liposome at 1%, plus Cocoa Extract, 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin, Squalane, Tocopherol and Beta-Glucan. The ingredients are very similar to the Toner, but it feels more moisturising and leaves my skin feeling soft. It is non-sticky and layers well with other products. 🌿 Kaine Rosemary AHA Night Serum: it has a very light texture that absorbs immediately onto my skin. Infused with 9% Lactic Acid, 7% Rosemary Leaf Extract and 0.5% Succinic Acid; plus 3 Flower Extracts, 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin and Panthenol. It is fragrance free but does have a light smell to it, layers well under moisturiser and does not irritate my skin. The next morning my skin feels very smooth and looks more even, although quite oily. Texture also seems visibly improved even when used only 2 - 3 times a week. 🍄 Kaine Vegan Collagen Youth Cream: designed to provide long lasting moisture with 50% Snow Mushroom Extract, Vegan Collagen & 2% Niacinamide, plus Adenosine & Jojoba Oil Other notable ingredients include Cupuacu Seed Butter, Panthenol, 8 types of H.A, Cholesterol and Beta-Glucan. Despite all plant butter and oil, the texture of this cream is extremely lightweight, almost like a lotion and sinks beautifully into the skin. It is non-greasy, layers well under sunscreen and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. I would say it is ideal for oily skin. Love the frosted glass and matching plastic packaging of these products. I also find the minimal branding very appealing. After a couple of weeks using these products I found my texture improved although it did feel a bit tight and believe the cream may not be nourishing enough when using exfoliating products like the AHA Serum. Overall, a beautiful skincare range that I would definitely recommend, especially if you have oily skin. Panasonic NA9J Hair Dryer

Panasonic NA9J Hair Dryer

In January I received the Panasonic NA9J Hair Dryer to test and review.

This hair dryer is designed to help reduce damage and split ends thanks to both nanoe™ & Double Mineral Technology, which holds 1000 times more moisture than ions and generates mineral ions using 2 zinc electrons, respectively.

It comes with a built-in Quick Dry nozzle, plus a Styling nozzle and a Diffuser.

It has 3 speeds (Turbo, Dry & Set), 1800 Watts power, and 6 different modes:

  1. Intelligent Temperature Control Mode
  2. Hot
  3. Cold
  4. Hot & Cold Alternating Mode
  5. Scalp Mode
  6. Skin Mode
I like to use the Panasonic NA9J Hair Dryer on the Hot & Cold Alternating Mode to rough-dry my hair then use the Scalp mode to finish styling as the temperature is more comfortable.

What I love:

  • It is quiet, not too heavy at 502g, and it is foldable
  • It left my hair feeling very soft and shiny, with volume at the roots
  • It reduces frizz considerably
  • It has a long 2.7m cord

What I did not love:

  • It can get quite hot, even on the lowest setting
  • It does not have a cool shot button, which is a must for me.
  • My hair is left looking fluffy and with some flyaways and I prefer a more sleek finish. It does look much better the following day though.
For the finish it gives I think it would be best suited for people with fine or flat hair as it creates the look of more volume but overall it is a good hair dryer.

VOAS TECH One Seed Ceramide Cream and Dr. Light Hydra Vita Serum B12

VOAS TECH One Seed Ceramide Cream and Dr. Light Hydra Vita Serum B12

VOAS TECH One Seed Ceramide Cream and Dr. Light Hydra Vita Serum B12

Recently I received a couple of products kindly sent to me by I'm Gorgeous Store to test out.

They were from a brand I had not used before so was very keen to try them! The products I received are:

VOAS TECH One Seed Ceramide Cream: designed to support a healthy skin barrier by nourishing with 5 types of ceramides.

Other notable ingredients include: Sunflower Seed Oil, Allantoin, Squalane, Panthenol, Cholesterol, Beta-Glucan and Sparassis Crispa Extract.

The texture of this cream is thick but breathable at the same time, it feels very silicone-based and leaves a velvety finish on the skin, which I really like.

It moisturises nicely without any stickiness and layers well with other products; it feels soothing and repairing, helping to reduce any tight sensation from the use of cleansers or active ingredients.

VOAS TECH Dr. Light Hydra Vita Serum B12: formulated to soothe and hydrate the skin with 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamins B5 and B12.

It also features hydrating Saccharide Isomerate and soothing Allantoin.

This serum has a lightweight gel consistency and a cute pink hue provided by the Vitamin B12 in the formula.

It spreads easily on the skin and is quickly absorbed, immediately hydrating and reducing tightness, while providing a nice glow as well. I also noticed that it reduces redness and promotes a more even skin tone.

One pump is enough for my whole face so this serum will last a long time.

Both products are unscented and I would recommend them if you are looking for soothing and barrier-repairing products. I believe they would be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.

Oral-B Intensive Whitening Toothpaste

Oral-B Intensive Whitening Toothpaste

Recently I received the Oral-B Pro 3D White Clinical Intensive Whitening Toothpastes* in Bright Brilliance and Radiant White

This range is designed to lift surface stains and protect teeth from new stains by using Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Disodium Pyrophosphate and Sodium Monofluorophosphate.

These toothpastes promise to help achieve whiter teeth in 1 day. I was initially skeptical of such big claims, so was not expecting to see fast results but I am very impressed. I noticed my teeth were brighter and whiter within 2 - 3 uses. After continuously using these toothpastes for over a week I can see my teeth are looking even whiter.

Both flavours have a nice taste, they are not too strong or burn my mouth. These toothpastes did not cause irritation and left my teeth feeling very clean and smooth.

I preferred the taste of Radiant White to Bright Brilliance.

The only thing I am nervous about are the visible particles which I worry could be too abrasive when used with an electric toothbrush.

Overall, a nice whitening toothpaste range, that while a bit on the pricey side it's still more affordable than other whitening treatments so definitely worth a try.

Find the Oral-B Pro 3D White Clinical Intensive Whitening Toothpastes at Boots, currently 50% off!

Anaaka Skincare Day Cream & Serum

Anaaka Skincare Day Cream & Serum
@skincarestationery

♬ you not the same - tilekid

A couple of weeks ago I received the Anaaka Halal Skincare Firming Anti-Ageing Day Cream and the Firming Serum

Both products come packaged in black cardboard boxes with metallic accents and wrapped in cellophane. The glass rose gold bottles are heavy and feel luxurious. The Day Cream has a stopper inside and the serum uses a pump to dispense the product.

Anaaka Priming Anti-Ageing Day Cream

Notable ingredients include: Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Beeswax, Safflower Seed Oil, Edelweiss Extract, Masterwort Extract, Sunflower Seed and Acacia Flower Waxes, 4 types of Peptides and Soy Protein.

It has a sweet orange scent which I enjoy, and a lightweight texture that feels comfortable on the skin, leaving it soft, and moisturised with a velvety finish - ideal if you have oily skin like me.

I would have liked it to have a higher SPF of 30 instead of 15 but other sunscreens can be easily layered on top.

There was some separation in my cream which was slightly concerning, but overall it is a nice product and will continue to use it.

Anaaka Firming Serum

Notable ingredients include: Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Acmella Oleracea Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Copper Tripeptide-1 and Allantoin.

This milky serum is very lightweight and absorbs fast into the skin, leaving it very soft and smooth. It also seems to have improved firmness within a couple of uses which is amazing!

Like the cream, it also features a citrus scent, however it is slightly different and not as enjoyable. The pump action can be a bit strong so you have to be careful in order to avoid waste.

All in all, a serum with great ingredients and a nice formula that I will continue to use.

Have you tried Anaaka Halal Skincare?

Autumn/Winter Must Haves

Autumn/Winter Must Haves

It's been a very long time coming but here are my AW 23/24 must haves (AKA the season's wishlist)

We are still in the middle of winter so a nice down coat or jacket is a must. A pastel coloured one keeps up the hopes of spring yet to come. A mohair jumper is also a basic in my book.

Cute underwear keeps you from feeling frumpy when wearing lots of chunky layers; and soft, comfortable cotton loungewear in neutral colours is ideal when working from home.

On the beauty front, a new fragrance is always exciting. This one from YSL reimagines the original Black Opium (which I love!) by adding a cherry twist. To combat redness from harsh weather, a colour correcting treatment will work wonders. A nice milky toner with peptides and ceramides will soothe and moisturise.

Hair can also become brittle and dull when using heated tools constantly throughout the season. Some TLC is due, from washing to styling with nourishing cleansers, conditioners and leave-in products. Look for heat protectants, oils and keratin for best results.

Mary Janes will be everywhere this SS, but a pair of chunky ones will look great with all your AW outfits. For a more delicate, albeit edgy style, a slimmer sole will satisfy your coquette cravings and will see you through the warmer months. If you're not into shoes (do such people even exist?) a cute pastel bag will also satisfy such cravings.

What are your AW must haves?

PINATE Natural Bloom Lip Oil Serum Dohwa Set

PINATE Natural Bloom Lip Oil Serum Dohwa Set
@skincarestationery I received this product for free from Picky and Pinate in exchange for my honest review. A couple of weeks ago I received the PINATE Natural Bloom Lip Oil Serum Dohwa Set to test and review. The set contains 3 Lip Oils, all of them infused with the oil of Camellia Flower: 🍀 Clear Dew: this colourless oil can be used on its own or over other lip products for added gloss and moisture. This version is fragrance-free and does not contain the plumping ingredients in the tinted versions, so it is great for sensitive skin. 🌹 Red Camellia: has a beautiful red tint that is very wearable for both special occasions and even every day as it is not too opaque. It has a lovely fruity scent and plumping ingredients. 🌺 Pink Muhly: this warm, nude shade is ideal if you are into a subtle hint of colour on the lips. It also has a fruity scent and plumping ingredients like the red version. All of them contain nourishing Safflower Oil, Gluconolactone to gently exfoliate for smoother lips, as well as Anemarrhena Asphodeloides which can increase lip volume over time. The tinted oils also contain Tabasco Pepper and Ginger Extracts, plus Menthol, which make lips burn for a few minutes. It was unexpected and not something I particularly enjoy in lip products as it can be uncomfortable. Thankfully the burning disappears after around 15 minutes. After applying these lip oils, my lips feel soft, moisturised and very smooth for the rest of the day without the need to reapply. I have also noticed that my lips are looking plumper and less dull, even on days when I don't use these products. I would recommend the Pinate Lip Oil Serums if you are interested in trying lip plumping products that also provide moisturise and a hint of colour. #pickyreview #gopicky #pinate #asmrhaul #asmrunboxing #kbeautyhaul #skincarehaul @Picky | Kbeauty 💌 ♬ Idea 7 - Gibran Alcocer

Mixsoon Haul & Review

Mixsoon Haul & Review

Mixsoon Haul & Review

@skincarestationery A couple of weeks ago I received a set of Mixsoon products from StyleKorean to Try and Review: 🏔️ Mixsoon Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum It is the size of a toner so will last a very long time. It has a minimal ingredient list and is fragrance free so suitable for sensitive skin. The texture is lightweight but with some viscosity to it, and absorbs very fast into the skin, bringing back hydration and light moisture. My favourite from this TMRM. 🌺 Mixsoon Bean Eye Cream This unscented eye cream is infused with Niacinamide, Adenosine and several fermented ingredients. It has a medium consistency that moisturises nicely and does not feel heavy or greasy. Sadly, my eyelids didn't love it so couldn't fully test it as I was allergic to it and ended up with swollen, red lids, so it was a bit disappointing. Thankfully I recovered quickly. 🍐 Mixsoon Bean Cleansing Oil It contains Soybean, Jojoba and Sunflower Oils, plus Vitamin E; Pomegranate and Pear Ferments. The pump bottle makes it very easy to dispense. It recommends using 2 - 3 pumps but I find one is sufficient for me. It has a sweet, floral-fruity scent, which I enjoy and removes makeup well. It also moisturises and removes impurities from my pores. Afterwards I follow with a foaming cleanser to remove any leftover oil. 🍐 Mixsoon Bean Essence With Glycerin, plus Ferments of Soybean, Pomegranate, Barley Seed and Pear Juice, this Essence features a stringy texture and light consistency, akin to egg whites, however, it is not at all sticky. It takes some time to absorb and feels very hydrating, leaving skin with a beautiful glow. 🍐 Mixsoon Bean Cream Comes in a sturdy glass jar with a stopper and no spatula. Contains Meadowfoam Seed Oil and Ferments of Soybean, Pomegranate, Barley and Pear, plus Vitamin B5, Adenosine and several natural extracts. It is fragranced with Essential Oils of Bergamot, Lavender and Chamomile, however, it smells different to that and has a strong smell that I did not enjoy much. It is rich and moisturising but does not feel heavy on the skin. I found it a bit tacky and it made my face stick to my pillowcase, even my silk one but I did not dislike the cream so will continue to use it. I love the minimal packaging and formulations, however, I found that the range was more on the basic side so if you are only looking for products to hydrate, moisturise and enhance glow then they will be a great choice, but if you have further skin concerns then they may not be the best option. A couple of weeks ago I received a set of Mixsoon products from StyleKorean to Try and Review:

Mixsoon Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum

It is the size of a toner so will last a very long time. It has a minimal ingredient list and is fragrance free so suitable for sensitive skin. The texture is lightweight but with some viscosity to it, and absorbs very fast into the skin, bringing back hydration and light moisture. My favourite from this TMRM.

Mixsoon Bean Eye Cream

This unscented eye cream is infused with Niacinamide, Adenosine and several fermented ingredients. It has a medium consistency that moisturises nicely and does not feel heavy or greasy. Sadly, my eyelids didn't love it so couldn't fully test it as I was allergic to it and ended up with swollen, red lids, so it was a bit disappointing. Thankfully I recovered quickly.

Mixsoon Bean Cleansing Oil

It contains Soybean, Jojoba and Sunflower Oils, plus Vitamin E; Pomegranate and Pear Ferments.

Mixsoon Bean Essence

With Glycerin, plus Ferments of Soybean, Pomegranate, Barley Seed and Pear Juice, this Essence features a stringy texture and light consistency, akin to egg whites, however, it is not at all sticky. It takes some time to absorb and feels very hydrating, leaving skin with a beautiful glow.
