Yesterday when I got home I saw that I had a little something on my eyeball, I could slightly feel it so thought it was fluff or something. In the mirror it looked bright red so I washed my hands and tried to get it off but it wasn't going anywhere so I panicked, started getting hot and was nearly sick as I didn't know what it was. Turns out it was bloodshot, which had never happened to me before, it's going away now but I was relieved to find out that it's not serious and goes away on its own after a couple of days yay! haha.

On other news, it's Thursday! and I'm only working tomorrow until lunch time and then it's the weekend, which means rest, rest and more rest haha with a bit of shopping time in between ;)

Spring Wedding Dresses at Cocomelody

Next month marks the start of spring and with that hopefully some sunnier and warmer days, which will also mark the chosen time for many happy couples to celebrate their wedding. Because of the warmer weather, wedding dresses worn during that time of the year can feature designs in lighter fabrics or shorter hemlines, as well as low or backless designs. At Cocomelody they have wedding dresses that will definitely suit a spring wedding. Here are a couple of my favourites:

At Cocomelody they have lovely low back wedding dresses, like the one on the left which is a full length gown with a small train in lace overlay. The champagne coloured dress features a v neck at the front with thick straps that become a low v shape at the back and is finished in a series of delicate fabric covered buttons. I like that the shape of the dress is slightly fitted on the top and then flares gently out from the hips, creating a romantic look with a more vintage feel.

The dress on the right gives the illusion of a backless gown thanks to the use of a sheer fabric with a lace overlay that covers the area from the cleavage all the way to the low rounded v shaped back. This sweetheart neckline gown comes in a more traditional white colour, but the fitted bodice and hip make it look more modern as it comes out becoming a mermaid style dress. The full length dress has a small train and looks dazzling as the satin fabric under the lace shines through.

There is a sale going on the Cocomelody website, where you can get $25 off wedding dresses worth $200 or more.

Garnier Micellar Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin

Garnier Micellar Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin

Every makeup-wearing girl needs a makeup remover to take it all off at the end of the day. My most recent acquisition is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin, which as many will know is a gentle cleanser/makeup remover that needs no rinsing after use.

This version by Garnier is meant for combination and sensitive skin, and claims to purify and matify as well as remove makeup. It can be used on the face, eyes and lips, which makes it versatile as you don't have to use different products for cleansing each area.

I have been using the Garnier Micellar Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin for a few months now and I can say that it is very effective at removing makeup without a struggling to get rid of longer lasting products such as mascara or eye liner. I only need to hold a cotton pad for a few seconds on my eyes and with a wipe the makeup is gone, which is great.

It doesn't leave a greasy residue or shiny look to the skin, it's effective, affordable and easy to use, so would definitely recommend it if you are looking to try a new makeup remover or an alternative to the Crealine Micellar Water by Bioderma.

Find Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin in Boots and Superdrug.

Feeling Better

light and shadow
The last couple of days have been not too good health-wise. On Friday I started getting a mild sore throat, which I thought was one of those that goes away as the day goes on, but it only started getting worse. I tried a throat spray that normally sorts any soreness out, but it wasn't really working.

On Saturday I woke up and it had progressed into a very sore throat, I kept using the spray and taking ibuprofen through the day but it just wasn't helping that much. That night I woke up twice, at 3 am and 6 am, as it was really painful to swallow, and the fact that my mouth seemed to be salivating more than usual was definitely not helping. Spraying it only made it feel like burning and I actually cried as it was going from bad to worse and couldn't bear the thought of having to wait until Monday to see if I could get an appointment at the doctor's.

So on Sunday morning I woke up at 6 and after breakfast we called the 111 number for medical non-emergencies and managed to get an appointment at the hospital. By then my throat was so red and sore, it felt like it had been rubbed with sandpaper, my tonsils were swollen and the uvula looked as it was about to burst with some liquid. It was scary and disgusting to look at.

My appointment was at 10:50 am but had to wait about an extra 30 minutes. When I finally got to see the doctor, he said I had tonsillitis and a high temperature so am now on antibiotics. We went straight to the chemist to get them so I could start taking them and will end up taking 80 pills through the course of 10 days ha! I think it's the most I've ever had to take in my entire life. Got back home just gone 12 pm and started taking my medicine.

By the end of Sunday my throat was already feeling better with half the pain I woke up to which was such a relief, but then I started getting nauseous and thought maybe it was something I ate. Got up on Monday, had breakfast and felt a bit nauseous again, and once more after lunch. Started to seriously worry as I didn't want the medicine to be giving me these symptoms, resulting in 10 days of nausea. Right before dinner was ready, I was sick, and after that I just felt much better as the nausea had gone, so it was probably something I ate.

Today I woke up with a still tender stomach which sometimes ached like some sort of cramp but my throat has almost completely gone back to its original colour, the uvula's not longer swollen and the pain when swallowing has nearly  disappeared. My throat is feeling quite dry so that's triggering a tickly cough but I can deal with that. I've had to take 2 days off work because of this but I think I will be fine to go back tomorrow and then will have a week off because half term starts on Monday. That should give me some time to fully recover.

In other news I got a birthday gift for my husband, I ordered it yesterday and it was delivered the same day. Always get so excited when I buy him something that I end up spoiling the surprise because I can't wait to give him his gifts, be it birthday, valentine's, anniversary or Christmas haha.

Hope your weekend was better than mine!
