These pictures are from our trip to Mexico. This was at Parque Fundidora, where I found the remains of the Luminasia exhibition as they were being removed and got some sneaky pictures with it. The next outfit post, if I'm not mistaken, will feature my new haircut that I got last week.

Berghaus Haloway Jacket

Berghaus Haloway Hydroloft Jacket

Last week I was kindly sent the Haloway Insulated Hydroloft™ Jacket to try and review. Even though it's almost spring, it's still quite cold (we've had some hailstone action in the past couple of days) so it's no surprise that this jacket is coming very handy.

One of the first things I noticed when I tried the Haloway Jacket on is how lightweight it is, which makes it very comfortable, easy to wear and layer over clothes. It has a nice, feminine shape that goes in at the waist and a very subtle dog tooth print finish on the fabric.

As mentioned before, the jacket features synthetic Hydroloft™ insulation, which is highly breathable and does not absorb water, while the use of body mapping and water & wind resistant fabric ensures you get warm where you need it the most. The Haloway Jacket also provides added protection with an adjustable & detachable hood, fitted cuffs and two zipped felted pockets.

After a couple of days wearing this jacket I can definitely say that it is wind resistant (I haven't fully tested it in the rain so can't comment on water resistance) it's very comfortable and warm. The only issue I had was with the zip, which proved troublesome when trying to do it up but with a bit of practice I got there in the end. Overall, I would recommend this jacket if you are looking for a durable, good quality outerwear piece that will protect you from the weather and last you many years.

Find the Haloway Insulated Hydroloft™ Jacket* and more outdoor clothing on the Berghaus website.

Avon Naturals Chocolate Body Scrub

Avon Naturals Body Care Indulging Chocolate Body Scrub review

Normally, I try to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible but like to venture into the unknown from time to time. On this occasion I decided to give Avon Naturals Body Care Indulging Chocolate Body Scrub a try.

This body scrub invites you to luxuriate in the fragrance of luscious chocolate and claims to leave skin feeling cleansed and conditioned. To use just massage on the skin and rinse thoroughly.

The truth is I ordered this scrub because it was chocolate scented, though I didn't expect it to smell this nice, just like chocolate butter cream icing, so delicious! It also has a mousse-like consistency with very small scrubbing particles that are almost invisible.

Avon Naturals Chocolate Body Scrub is easy to use and not at all messy. I just apply it, massage and rinse and it leaves my skin feeling very smooth and soft.

I would recommend this product if you are looking for a gentle, affordable and delicious smelling body scrub.

Visiting Riviera Maya

Tulum Riviera Maya
Playa del Carmen
Chichen Itza
Iguana in Tulum
Tulum Riviera Maya

Back in 2013 we went to visit my family in Mexico and our parents kindly gifted us a weekend away in the Riviera Maya. Our hotel was in Playa del Carmen, right around the corner from the main pedestrian avenue Quinta Avenida, full of shops and restaurants, as well as being a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

The great thing about the Riviera Maya is that there is so much to do you definitely won't get bored: there is obviously the beaches (which are absolutely gorgeous with white sand and turquoise sea) where you can sunbathe or go for a swim; there are also many clubs and bars, especially in Cancun, if you want to go out for a drink; theme parks like Xel Ha and Xcaret with aquatic and eco-tourism activities such as snorkelling, cenote or cave exploration, and even swimming with dolphins; you could go and visit the neighbouring archaeological sites such as Tulum (or even Chichen Itza if you have a whole day to spare). And of course, the food: Mexican food is world heritage as well as my favourite type of food.

I had been to Cancun before with my family, but that was years ago when I was very little so don't remember much. It was great and lots of fun making new memories in Riviera Maya with my husband on this occasion which was like the honeymoon we didn't have straight after our wedding in 2012.

I would recommend booking a package with flight, transportation to and from airports, and hotel as it is generally cheaper this way. Also if available in a package, choose to have your breakfast at the hotel as it saves you time in the morning: after you get ready have some breakfast and you are ready to go. And last but not least enquire if you can book any tours to ruins or theme parks from the comfort of your hotel's own lobby, but do shop around as it might be cheaper to take a bus from the station. We booked a day trip to Chichen Itza from our hotel but we took a bus to Tulum (which was closer) and explored the ruins by ourselves.

I love long hair, and always have ever since I was little as for me it's kind of a symbol of ultimate femininity, though recently, after seeing Edie Campbell in the YSL Black Opium advert with that haircut it made me want to embrace that haircut again after giving it a try a few years back when the whole scene kid fashion was around.

The good thing about long hair is that it helps keep you warmer in the winter haha but it is a nightmare waiting for it to dry with a cold head and I hate using heat on my hair as I don't want to damage it, as well as being very time consuming. It's also annoying when you're trying to do the zip up on your coat or jacket and your hair is so long it gets on the way. It was getting quite tangly on the ends so that was it.

I went today to get my hair cut (I showed the stylist the last 2 pictures) and she cut my hair in nice layers and even though she advised not to have a fringe I went for it anyway. This was probably one of the very few times where I wasn't worried about keeping the length and she didn't really cut it as short as I was expecting (an extra 1 or 2 inches would have been great) and I was also expecting the ends to be layered as well, not blunt but oh well, it still looks fine. Next time I'll just have to emphasize on the 'no blunt ends' thing. See the end result on my Instagram.

American Apparel at BuyTshirtsOnline

American Apparel Tri-Blend Rib Light Weight Raglan Pullover

American Apparel Tri-Blend Rib Light Weight Raglan Pullover
BuyTshirtsOnline - a wholesale, printing and embroidery website - kindly sent me an American Apparel item to try and review. I chose the Tri-Blend Light Weight Raglan Pullover, as my last sweatshirt from Uniqlo got ruined at an amusement park slide last month

The American Apparel Raglan Pullover has a knit texture which is very soft, and even though it's lightweight it's still quite warm and super comfortable. The colour is a bit darker than I expected but I still like it nonetheless. This top has got a bit of room for layering but can be worn on it's own as well and it can be dressed up or down. I received a size small which fits perfectly, even on my tiny wrists. It looks like it's really good quality and I can't wait to style it and show you.

Find the American Apparel Tri-Blend Light Weight Raglan Pullover* for £10.62 (RRP £32) on BuyTshirtsOnline.

#IceColdAdventures and £250 Voucher Giveaway with Berghaus

As much as I get cold with the slightest temperature drop, I would love to go skiing one day just to experience it. Doing a bit of research I discovered that there are quite a few skiing destinations within the UK and since Scotland is a country I'd like to visit, maybe turning it into an ice cold adventure at Ben Nevis would be a great idea.

And for my trip I would wear either one of these options below. I know the left one looks like it wouldn't be very warm but the Hartley Insulated Mac offers warmth and weather protection, plus I love the trench coat style. The middle jacket is the Cinderdale Hydroloft Mac, which features waterproof fabric and insulation, as well as a stylish faux fur trim on the hood. And last but not least, the Barkley Hydrodown Jacket has water and wind resistant fabric, plus water repellent down for insulation.
