Left: Moisturising Lotion, Right: Nourish & Restore
The cold winter days seem to be finally over, but they might have left your skin tight and dry, and that's when a good moisturising lotion comes in handy.
Recently I got sent a couple of E45 Lotions to try and review. There are 4 varieties to choose from: Touchably Smooth, Nourish & Restore, Moisturising Lotion and Intense Recovery.
I received Nourish & Restore, which is a lightly fragranced everyday lotion to help prevent dry skin and retain moisture; and the Moisturising Lotion, which is a fragrance free everyday lotion that soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin.
The Nourish & Restore lotion is slightly thick, which made me think it would be greasy and that it would take long to absorb, but that wasn't the case. The lotion feels light, sinks into the skin very quickly and leaves a nice powdery scent that lingers for a few hours, which I really like. This product is hypoallergenic, so the fact that it is scented shouldn't represent a problem if you have sensitive skin.
The Moisturising Lotion is quite runny, so I thought it would be lighter than the Nourish & Restore lotion. Unfortunately it feels quite greasy when you apply it and it is just not completely absorbed. Even after a few hours after applying my skin still feels oily, which I assume is due to the use of lanolin in this product.
This is a good choice for sensitive skin as well since it is perfume free, but I am not a fan of the smell of this lotion, which I can't really describe as I am not sure what it is, though it might be the lanolin.
Overall, I prefer the Nourish & Restore lotion to the Moisturising Lotion, but you might like the latter if you have very dry skin as it feels more rich and forms a barrier that can keep the moisture in your skin. If you need a lighter moisturiser then I would recommend Nourish & Restore as it gets rid of dry skin, it's not oily and smells nice.
E45 Nourish & Restore* and E45 Moisturising Lotion* available in Boots and Superdrug.
Have you used E45 lotions before?

I am using E45. The first time I used it was when I was in London and bought 3 large bottle before I went home, unfortunately, I don't have any left. I think I am able to finish one large bottle in a month. It is the only lotion that suits my skin and makes my skin hydrated the entire day. My favourite variant would definitely be the one with shimmering effect- it was the one with Gold bottle cap. If I'm not mistaken. I also like the unscented one because it doesn't mix with my perfume. Also- a certain princess from the middle east uses it. :D
