KLAVUU Deep Ocean Gel Comforter

Last week I was kindly sent a pot of the KLAVUU The Origin Deep Ocean Gel Comforter to try and review.

The KLAVUU Deep Ocean Gel Comforter is a 100% vegan gel moisturiser that contains a variety of seaweed extracts, such as kelp, sea mustard and sargassaceae to help rejuvenate the skin, promote cell repair and provide instant cooling relief. 

The formula also contains hydrolised vegetable protein to improve skin elasticity, panthenol (vitamin B5) to aid skin's healing function, and hyaluronic acid and beta-glucan for lightweight hydration.

The formula is very lightweight with a gel consistency that is almost like water, it is quickly absorbed into the skin, has a cooling sensation and leaves a slightly velvety feel on the skin, which makes it ideal for oily skin or to use during warmer weather.

I love the packaging: the pale green theme on the jar's lid and the box, the sticker seal, the inclusion of an expiry date, the mention of "special thanks" upon opening the box (which I thought was adorable), the gold writing and details on the box and jar, plus the addition of a spatula to get the product out more hygienically, all add up to a positive consumer experience. 

The only thing I didn't love was the smell of the product which I couldn't exactly describe, but it reminds me of a petroleum based plastic. It might be that the seaweed extracts naturally have this particular scent which isn't masked by the omission of added fragrance in the formula. 

However I loved everything else about it, the recycled box packaging, the texture and feel of the gel on the skin and the fact that it includes an extra 20ml more than what we normally get in jar moisturisers.

I would recommend the KLAVUU Deep Ocean Gel Comforter for anyone looking for a lightweight, refreshing moisturiser to try this summer, especially if you have oily skin.
